Boxscape

Legal

Terms of use

Effective 18 August 2026. Covers the Boxscape game and this website.

1. Who these terms are with

Boxscape (the “game”) and this website are provided by Gregor Sirca (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the game, or by using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

2. Your licence to use the game

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Boxscape on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. That licence lasts as long as you comply with these terms.

3. What you may not do

  • Copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the game or its assets.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the game, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Modify the game or create derivative works from it.
  • Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice.
  • Use the game or site in any way that breaks the law.

4. Ownership

The game, including its code, artwork, sound, and the Boxscape name, remains our property or that of our licensors. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Third-party components included in the game remain subject to their own licences.

5. Your device and your data

Boxscape stores your progress locally on your device. The only thing it sends anywhere is a leaderboard entry: three scores, a nickname the game invents for you, and a random identifier it generates itself. What that means in detail is set out in the privacy policy. You are responsible for your device, and we cannot recover local data that is lost when an app is uninstalled or a device is reset.

6. The leaderboards

The global boards are provided as-is and as-available. We may remove any entry, reset a board, or stop offering them altogether — for example where an entry is obtained by modifying the game, by automating play, or by any means other than playing it. The game is fully playable without them: if the boards cannot be reached it falls back to its own fixed rivals.

Nicknames are generated by the game rather than chosen by you. If you find one objectionable, tell us at the address below and we will change it.

7. Store purchases

If you obtain Boxscape through the Apple App Store or Google Play, your download and any payment is handled by that store under its own terms, and refunds are governed by that store's policy rather than by us.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue the game or any part of it at any time. We may also update these terms; if we do, we will change the effective date above, and continuing to use the game after that means you accept the revised terms.

9. No warranty

The game and this site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of the game or this site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the game, if anything, in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Ending the licence

Your licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the game. Sections 4, 9, 10, and 12 survive the end of the licence.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of Slovenia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
