Privacy policy
Effective 18 August 2026. Applies to the Boxscape mobile game.
The short version
Boxscape has no account system and no sign-in. It never asks you for your name, your email address, or anything else about you. Almost everything it records — your trophies, your settings, which backdrop you picked — is written to your device's private app storage and stays there.
The one exception is the leaderboards. To rank you against other players the game sends three scores, a nickname it made up for you, and a random identifier it generated itself, to LootLocker, the service that hosts the boards. That is the whole of what leaves your phone, and it is set out in full below.
What the game stores on your device
Boxscape saves your progress locally so it survives between sessions:

This data lives in the app's own private storage area and is not readable by other apps. None of it is taken from your device: there is no device identifier, no advertising id, and no account behind any of it.
What leaves your device
Boxscape has three global leaderboards — longest run, most bounces, and most trophies held. They are hosted by LootLocker, a third-party game backend. When you finish a run, and when you open the boards, the game sends:

| A player identifier | A random string the game makes up on first run and saves locally. Not your device id, not an advertising id, and not derived from anything about you or your phone — it exists so the board shows one row for you rather than a new one every launch. |
| A game key and version | Identifies the game to the service. Nothing to do with you. |
As with any internet request, LootLocker's servers also see the IP address the request arrives from. LootLocker processes this data on our behalf, under its own privacy policy.
In return the game receives the top rows of each board — other players' nicknames and scores — which is what the Scores screen shows.
Nothing else is transmitted. There is no telemetry on how you play, no crash reporting, and no profile beyond the nickname and those three numbers. If the game cannot reach the service it shows its own five fixed rivals instead and plays exactly as it would offline.
What the game does not do
- No accounts, logins, or passwords — the leaderboard session is anonymous and needs nothing from you.
- No real name, email address, or age asked for at any point.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo access.
- No trackers, and no software development kit that collects anything beyond the leaderboard described above.
- No sale of personal information, and no sharing of it with anyone but the leaderboard host.
Children
Boxscape is suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13: it asks for nothing, and the nickname that appears on the leaderboard is invented by the game rather than typed by the player, so it cannot identify a child. A parent or guardian who wants a board entry removed can ask at the address below.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Boxscape removes its local storage — your records, trophies, settings, nickname and player identifier. A fresh install is a fresh player, with a new nickname and no way back to the old rows.
Leaderboard entries are held by LootLocker and are not removed by uninstalling. To have yours deleted, write to the address below with the nickname shown on your Scores screen and we will remove it.
App stores
Boxscape is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those stores handle the download, any purchase, and their own analytics under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Please refer to Apple's and Google's policies for what they collect when you obtain an app.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Boxscape adds anything that collects or transmits data — analytics, crash reporting, advertising, accounts — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date above will change. The leaderboards above arrived that way: this document was rewritten for them before the build carrying them went out.
